So, Charizard is one of the final evolutions in Kanto. The Pokémon is also available as a starter Pokémon in the games Pokémon Red, Blue, FireRed and LeafGreen. Also in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, it often takes on the role of the protagonist or a partner, and is thus an important character in many Pokémon games.

Charizard - origin and appearance

Charizard looks like an orange dragon on two legs and belongs to the flight and fire types. Its belly and the underside of its tail are beige, the insides of its pointed wings are colored a dark turquoise. The long, powerful tail tapers towards the end, and burns with an orange-yellow flame at the very back. The head looks dragon-typical and is adorned with two small horns. The white canines are also clearly visible even when the mouth is closed. The two strong legs each have three white claws, and the rather narrow hands each have three finger-like claws.

Charmander, the original form of Charizard, is native only to Kanto, Alola, Galar, and Kalos, and is almost never found in the wild. It is usually available as a starter Pokémon and is bred explicitly by trainers.

From Charmander and Glutexo becomes Charizard

Charizard comes from Charmander which evolves into Glutexo at level 16. This then becomes Charizard upon reaching level 36. Charizard is a very strong Pokémon with many different attacks. Its physical strength alone makes it very strong in fights. Its powerful claws help with attacks like Slash, Dragon Claw, or Dark Claw, while its Fire Fang and Wings aren't idle either, spawning some effective attacks. However, it also has the ability to breathe fire, channeling its firepower into Pillars of Fire or Blaze Cannonade.
