Charizard and its developments

Charizard has existed since the first generation of games and is an evolution of Charmander , which first becomes Charmeleon and then Charizard.

The Fire-type Pokémon is among those that are known even beyond the Pokémon fan base. For the first time, Charmander serves as a starter Pokémon in Kanto, alongside Venusaur and Blastoise .

So, Charizard is one of the final evolutions in Kanto. The Pokémon is also available as a starter Pokémon in the games Pokémon Red, Blue, FireRed and LeafGreen. Also in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, it often takes on the role of the protagonist or a partner, and is thus an important character in many Pokémon games.

Charizard - origin and appearance

Charizard looks like an orange dragon on two legs and belongs to the Flying/Fire type. Its belly and the underside of its tail are beige, while the inside of its pointed wings is a dark turquoise. The long, powerful tail tapers towards the end and burns with an orange-yellow flame at the very tip. Its head has a typical dragon appearance and is adorned with two small horns. The white fangs are clearly visible, even when the mouth is closed. Each of its powerful legs has three white claws, and its rather slender hands each have three finger-like talons.

Charmander, the original form of Charizard, is native only to Kanto, Alola, Galar, and Kalos, and is almost never found in the wild. It is usually available as a starter Pokémon and is bred explicitly by trainers.

Off Charmander and Glutexo becomes Charizard

Charizard is descended from Charmander , which evolves into Charmeleon at level 16. Charmeleon then evolves into Charizard upon reaching level 36. Charizard is a very powerful Pokémon with many different attacks. Its sheer physical strength makes it incredibly strong in battle. Its powerful claws aid in attacks like Slash, Dragon Claw, and Shadow Claw, while its Fire Fang and wings also contribute to several effective attacks. It also has the ability to breathe fire and channel its fiery power into pillars of fire or Blast Burn.

Mega Evolutions

Since Generation VI, Charizard has been able to undergo Mega Evolutions . It can even evolve into two forms: Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y. When evolving into Charizard X, the Pokémon becomes even more dragon-like. Its skin turns anthracite, while its belly and the undersides of its wings become light blue. The flame on its tail also burns blue. Additionally, blue flames flicker from the sides of its mouth. The horns on its head become larger and sharper, and more horns appear on its shoulders and wing joints. Its physical strength increases significantly, and it also gains the Dragon type.

As Charizard Y, it gets a slimmer body and larger wings, boosting its flight and fire abilities. The head now has three horns, the middle one being the largest, and the flame on the tail burns much larger. Color wise it stays the same and focuses more on its capabilities.

The Pokémon has been able to maximize the gigadynama since the eighth generation. Here it has many flames in and around its body that swirl around and can reach temperatures of up to 2000 °C. When it roars, the firepower increases even more, and it has the attack Giga Firefly, which deals a lot of damage to the opponent.

Charizard possesses a large number of Fire-type attacks and can learn many more as it levels up. In addition to the abilities already mentioned, it can have the hidden ability Solar Power, which further enhances its special abilities in sunlight.
