What are adventure effects?
Adventure Effects are temporary bonuses that can be activated by special attacks from powerful Pokémon outside of battles. They offer various advantages, such as making it easier to catch Pokémon or attracting certain species. With the introduction of Black and White Kyurem, the new Adventure Effects are now available "Frostvolt" and "Frosthauch" in the game.
Adventure Effect: Frostvolt
To activate “Frostvolt” you must Kyurem with Zekrom fused, whereby Kyurem must master the charged attack “Ice Age”. Through the fusion, “Ice Age” is converted into “Frost Volt”. To activate the “Frost Volt” effect, you need 5.000 stardust and 5 Kyurem candiesThis effect lasts for 10 minutes and causes it to fire electrically charged chunks of ice that paralyze wild Pokémon, making them easier to catch. The duration can be extended in 10-minute increments up to two hours by using Stardust and Candy again. In total, the effect can be maintained for up to 24 hours. Note that Frostvolt cannot be active at the same time as other Adventure effects.
Adventure Effect: Frost Breath
For “Frost Breath” you merge Kyurem with Reshiram, whereby Kyurem must also master the Charged Attack “Ice Age”. Through the fusion, “Ice Age” is transformed into “Frost Breath”. The activation of “Frost Breath” also requires 5.000 stardust and 5 Kyurem candies. This effect releases freezing gusts of ice for 10 minutes, slowing the target ring when encountering Pokémon, making it easier to pull off fabulous throws. Again, the duration can be extended in 10-minute increments up to two hours, with a maximum total duration of 24 hours. Frost Breath cannot be used in parallel with other adventure effects.
How do I activate the adventure effects?
- Perform a merger: Make sure your Kyurem The charged attack “Ice Age” is mastered. Then fuse it with Zekrom for “Frostvolt” or with Reshiram for "frost breath".
- Activate Adventure Effect: Go to your Pokémon collection, select the fused Pokémon, and scroll down to the Adventure Effects section. There you can activate the desired effect by spending the required resources.
